I love this recipe I found in Women’s Running Magazine. It’s super easy, light and most of the ingredients I have on hnd. I’ve made it even easier using pre-shredded carrots when I’m in a hurry. Perfect summer salad! Kim’s Carrot Salad 3 carrots, shredded 1 cup cherry tomatoes, sliced 1 […]
The boys often don’t like my dinner choices, so I decided to let them do it. I told each of them to each pick a recipe and make a grocery list. We had one entree, one salad and one dessert, well technically two desserts since I couldn’t say no, but they had fun once they […]
I’m always talking about how much I love Picky Bars. They are tasty and a perfect punch of energy for me. This recipe is the closest I’ve found, with a combination of nuts and fruit, plus these have CHOCOLATE. They stick together, don’t require refrigeration and my kids even approve.
I love that we always have things to celebrate and it’s even better when someone bakes you a treat. It was so nice of Kitty to make these yummy muffins for my birthday. Blueberry Whole Wheat Muffins 1 1/2 cups whole wheat pastry flour or white whole wheat flour 1/2 cup rolled oats, plus more […]
These were a perfect finish for our workout, a hint of chocolate with pieces of tart cherries. With some Greek yogurt and fruit, breakfast would be complete.
I’ve been taking these to every get-together the last couple of weeks since they are easy to make and I’ve gotten such positive feedback, including my super picky family. Chocolate Muffins 1 ½ C flour ½ C sugar ¼ C unsweetened cocoa powder 1 t. baking soda 3 […]
A great way to use up over-ripe bananas and, in my case, celebrate a birthday. We loved these after a birthday workout! I copied the recipe, as it ‘should’ be done, but I used the lazy girl version. I softened the butter a bit, combined dry and wet ingredients separately and then just mixed everything […]

I’ve tried all sorts of healthy recipes on my three boys and have convinced myself that they will thank me someday. I consider it a success when no one complains or spends FOREVER carefully examining each bite. This recipe was a success. A great way to sneak some zucchini in, and a less guilty version […]
It only took me 3 years to try this recipe, but I finally made these and I must say they were worth the wait! Lighter in texture and the perfect size, these will be my new go-to dessert for social gatherings. I’ve included the recipe as noted in Health Magazine (March 2011), but I just […]
This salad is full of wonderfully bright flavors that work great together. The fresh dill paired with the roasted peppers and cheese make this a fast, delicious lunch or dinner. I like to change out the feta cheese for blue cheese for an extra bite. Enjoy! Ingredients 1/4 tsp sea salt, plus a pinch, divided […]
I was lucky enough to get to see Kara Goucher speak at the Wine Country Half Marathon expo. Pretty much anyone who has ever talked to me knows how much I admire this athlete. She’s driven and extremely accomplished, representing the United States for two Olympic Games, yet stays very down to earth. Believe it or […]
